Purpose of ATL lab:

The chief objective of establishing ATLs is to promote curiosity, imagination, and creativity in the minds of school-going children. Other goals of the scheme include inculcating in children a design mindset, adaptive learning, computational thinking, physical computing, etc.

With a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, Atal Innovation Mission is establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools across India. The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.

Atal Innovation Mission Aim:

ATLs are dedicated spaces within schools where students from grades 6 to 12 can explore and work on various aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). These labs are equipped with tools, equipment, and resources to facilitate hands-on learning and practical experience.

The objective of Atal Tinkering Labs is to encourage a “maker” culture, where students can learn through experimentation, develop problem-solving skills, and enhance their entrepreneurial mindset. The labs provide an environment for students to tinker, invent, and create innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Through the Atal Tinkering Labs, students gain access to mentorship, guidance, and support from teachers, mentors, and industry experts. The initiative also promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing among students, enabling them to develop critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

The Atal Innovation Mission aims to establish Atal Tinkering Labs in schools across India to nurture a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young students, with the goal of fostering a more innovative and technology-driven nation.
